Book description

Poems by John Clare – is a collection of poems which was published in 1908, written by John Clare and edited by Arthur Symons. John Clare was an English poet, the son of a farm laborer. Glorified the traditional English village and mourned its disappearance. At the end of the 20th century, the attitude towards his poetry changed, and today he is considered one of the greatest English poets of the 19th century. His biographer believes that Claire was “the greatest poet of the working class in the history of England. No one wrote more powerful poems about nature, about childhood spent in the countryside, and about alienation, the fragility of their "I"." This collection of poems is conventionally divided into parts such as: Poems Of Rural Life, The Village Minstrel, The Shepherd's Calendar, The Rural Muse, Manuscript Book, Poems In The Manner Op Older Poets, Asylum Poems.
