Hydrocele: its several varieties and their treatment – is a work written by Samuel Osborn and published in 1878.
He was a British general surgeon, obstetrician, gynecologist, and author.
This work is a volume in which the results of the author's many years of work were combined, supplemented by new ideas on this topic.
The illustrations illustrating these pages are mainly taken from the St. Thomas’s Hospital Museum, not only because it is very rich in specimens illustrating this theme, but also because the reference can be made more easily.
This book covers topics such as Anatomy of Hydroceles, Classification of Hydroceles, Hydrocele of the Tunica Vaginalis, Hydrocele of the Vaginal Process, Hydrocele of the Funicular Process, Encysted Hydroceles, and Combinations of Hydrocele.
There is so much in this book that I'm not sure how to begin talking about it, and what exactly it was that I loved about it.
