Grace abounding to the chief of sinners, in a faithful account of the life and death of John Bunyan - is a puritanical spiritual autobiography written by John Bunyan. John Bunyan was an English writer, Baptist preacher of 17th century. It was compiled while Bunyan was serving a 21 year prison sentence in Bedford Prison for preaching without a license, and was first published in 1666. The text in this edition is as close as possible to the text of the eighth edition, which was corrected by John Bunyan himself just a few weeks before his death. “A Relation” is the first edition of 1765. For the convenience of the reader, a few minor changes have been made. The use of capital letters has been significantly changed and the spelling has been updated in places. In some cases, Scripture references have been added to quotations that were not in the original. It should be remembered that Bunyan often quoted Scripture inaccurately, and it was not considered necessary that all his quotes follow the Authorized Version text. The marginal summary is not part of the original, but has been prepared for this edition to be consistent with the Society's editions of the “Pilgrim's Progress”. The illustrations for this work were prepared by Harold Copping, whose illustrations for the “Pilgrim's Progress” have rightfully attracted much attention
