Book description

Fly-fishing in Maine lakes: or, Camp-life in the wilderness – is a book which was published in 1881 and written by Charles Woodbury Stevens. Fly fishing - is one of the methods of fishing that uses a lightweight lure called an artificial fly to catch the fish. Perhaps the author's desire to create the book arose from the fact that he mentally rested so much when he wrote these sketches, thereby renewing past pleasures and indulging in the expectation of their repetition in the future. Some of the content made it to the press, although the author never knew that the sales of the respective newspapers had increased markedly as a result. Since this book was written by a man busy with the daily cares and hardships of commercial life, the author hoped that it would avoid, if noticed at all, harsh criticism. It would be highly absurd to ask for anything more than a description of the pleasures of a sportsman by a passionate lover of nature. This book is written in the form of a story by the author about his camping in the wilderness, about fly fishing and much more.
