The author has written these pages, a record of his personal experience in poultry farming, to provide help and practical day-to-day information to those who, like the author, have so far been able to learn from failure and loss. This volume is intended solely to introduce newcomers to the profitable pursuit of successful poultry farming; for those who love their pets, seeks to benefit from any instructions and is ready to endure temporary inconveniences for the benefit of dumb, intelligent beings held in confinement for their own entertainment and pleasure; for those who wish to study birds scientifically and as a science activity, as much as a monetary reward, and who are able to recognize that they have personal qualities on par with the preferred horse or dog. Therefore, the author wrote this small work and tried to simplify all his comments and make the price of the book so that it would be available to all the poor and needy. If the author's observations serve the purpose of improving the fate of at least one, now unhappy, abandoned singer, and expanding the narrow scope of his pleasures, the author's desire will be satisfied.
