Gerhard Schneemann

Gerhard Schneemann (born at Wesel, Lower Rhine, on 12 February 1829, and died at Kerkrade, Netherlands, on 20 November 1885) was a German Jesuit priest and author. Having studied law for three years, he entered the seminary at Münster and was ordained subdeacon there in 1850. A member of the Society of Jesus from 1851, and ordained a priest in 1856, he for some years taught philosophy at Bonn and Aachen. Later he lectured on church history and canon law in the Jesuit scholasticate at Maria Laach Abbey.
