Literature comes from the Latin litterae - a letter or writing - a collection of written and printed works of a particular people, epoch, humanity. Literature reflects and preserves the knowledge and culture of the people of a particular historical period. At the same time, it is a kind of art, in fact, the art of the word, which reflects reality in artistic images, creates a new artistic reality under the laws of beauty. This is the result of the creative process of the author, recorded in the corresponding text using letters.

Literature is a form of transmission of thought and experience through writing, which is a product of writing. Fiction

Since the time of Aristotle, poetry (literature) has been compared with history (science), as well as other arts. According to the theory of imitation, one can see, following Aristotle, the specificity of literature. Literature shows what could have been probable, as opposed to the factual or inherited historical story.

This tradition is lasting and still feeds on traditional literary studies. It is complemented by comparative studies of science and literature, based on conceptual and figurative thinking. The main thesis that differentiates science and art is as follows: the scientist thinks in terms, the artist - in images. It concludes that science and art share a common object of knowledge - objective reality. The difference between them begins with the form of knowledge (reflection, mastering) of objective reality.

The inseparable unity of the figurative and conceptual thinking of man has prompted the proponents of this approach to study the specificity of art to testify to the dominance of one of the elements (concept or image) in the spiritual activity of man and to seek a specific subject of development for science and art.
