The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a novel by the Scottish writer Robert Stevenson, first published in January 1886 in London. This is one of his bestsellers. The book is known for its protagonists, Dr. Jekyll and his alter ego, Mr. Hyde. This is the same person who has opposite characters. This short story is considered an image of modern human hypocrisy. The book is dedicated to Katharine de Mattos.
