This book is a biographical sketch of Henry Bell's life which was published in 1844 and written by Edward Morris. Henry Bell was a Scottish engineer who launched Europe's first commercially successful steamboat. 28 Ton Comet - Bell's own steamer, launched from the port of Glasgow in 1812. Subsequently, this steamer carried passengers and goods along the Clyde River. The success of this vessel marked the beginning of the era of shipping in Europe.
