The Australian emigrant a rambling story, containing as much fact as fiction – is a book which was published in 1854 and written by George Henry Haydon. He was British born writer and artist of 19th century. After moving to Australia, Haydon cultivated the image of the colonial border guard in his clothes and letters. His insistence on virtues such as hospitality, companionship and independence found some expression in his novel “The Australian emigrant a rambling story, containing as much fact as fiction". The illustrations for this book are based on sketches by George Henry Haydon and were drawn by Watts Phillips. This novel consists of fifteen chapters.
