Mabel Powers was interested in the study of religion, literature, peace and racial understanding, and youth movements. She is also well known for her lectures and stories about the Iroquois, and she became part of the popular program at the Chautauqua Institute. Mabel Powers' life job was to represent the Indian people she was adopted into at the World Peace Congress of the International League in 1924. She is the author of many Native American articles and this book is no exception.
