Book description

This book is a second series of the Key to inductive Bible studies, published in 1899. In this series there are Studies in the Gospel of Luke and Studies in the Book of Jeremiah. The purpose of the first part of lessons is to help the student truly become familiar with the Gospel of Luke in general and its basic ideas. Lessons are not aimed at doing the work for the student, but at showing him how to do it for himself. These lessons are planned so that the student turns over the leaves of Luke, weighs and analyzes the material for three months. The purpose of the second part of this book is studies in Jeremiah are designed to follow those in Luke; therefore, it is unnecessary to repeat here what was said about the general method of inductive learning and teaching in the preliminary remarks to these studies. Given the large volume of the book of Jeremiah, it was felt that it was better to schedule readings for each week, during which the student could find answers to his questions. However, mature students will not feel limited by the passages mentioned. The readings may seem long to some, but they are easy to cover in twenty minutes a day. The book of Jeremiah is probably the best one to begin a closer study of the Old Testament.
