Forest mensuration. Tables for measuring logs, trees and the growth of stands

In 1908 the State Forest Warden published a pamphlet entitled "Forest Mensuration of the White Pine" containing most of the white pine data included in this bulletin. The second edition was published in 1911, and since it has already been exhausted, a third edition seems necessary. Since the initial white pine studies were carried out, the Department has also collected similar data on other species, and Harvard University's Department of Forestry has published a large amount of information in a similar vein in its research paper. It seemed to the Commissioner for Nature Protection that these tables, many of which are very valuable and of interest to the forest owner, should be made available to the general public, including them in the original material. Director of the Harvard Forest R. T. Fisher very graciously accepted this offer and submitted his material for use in this newsletter. Mr. H. O. Cook, M. F., author of the original white pine measurement bulletin, was commissioned to write and edit this publication. This edition was published in 1921.
