Julia McNair Wright (May 1, 1840 - September 2, 1903) was a popular American writer. She published numerous stories of abstinence and anti-Roman Catholic, among which were almost a nun; Priest and nun; Gospel in the Riviera; Heir to the Atoll, Scenes from the monastery; The wife won hard; A million are too many; Full house; Bricks from Babylon; as well as scientific stories called “The Sun and It's Family”; Plantlife story; Readers of nature, Seaside, and Roadside. She was the main author of The Cookbook for Women: A Complete Cookbook and Guide to Household Chores ... by Julia Mac Nair Wright et al. (532 pages). Julia McNair was born in Oswego, New York, on May 1, 1840. She was the daughter of John McNair, a civil engineer of Scottish descent. She carefully studied in private schools and seminaries.
