James Denney


James Denney, (1856 to 1917) was a Scottish-born theologian and preacher who is best known for his defense of the doctrine of Penal Substitution. Initially educated at the Highlanders' Academy, Greenock, University of Glasgow, where he studied from 1874 to 1879, he completed his syudies at Free Church College, Glasgow in 1883.
