J. Harvey Bloom


James Harvey Bloom (December 28, 1860 - 1944) was an English clergyman and antique dealer. Bloom was the son of Rev. James Grever Bloom. Not a student at Cambridge University, he received a bachelor's degree. in 1887 and M.A. in 1891. Initiated as a deacon in Calcutta in 1888, he was curator of St. Andrew, Hertford. After becoming a priest in 1890, he was curator of Hemsworth from 1890 to 1892. He was the principal of Long Marston High School from 1893 to 1895, and then the principal in Whitchurch, Warwickshire, from 1896 to 1917. Bloom was a genealogy, antiquarian, and miscellaneous writer. Bloom died in 1944. His books were sold at auction. His daughter was the writer Ursula Bloom, who published the memoirs of his father, Parson Extraordinar (1963).
